I'm almost positive I am going to be scammed. Someone messaged me asking to use one of my photos for their portrait project. Their client sells their art, and it's $2000 for a 50cm by 50cm piece. Am I wrong to think it's weird to send the money to me (I get a $500 cut for them using my picture) but then I send the rest to the artist so they can get materials? They sent me a picture of a check to deposit, but neither of the people I've spoken to have their name on it, and it's from Escrow Inc and Weststar Bank. I don't see why the money wouldn't go directly to the artist first.
