So yesterday I was walking home and saw two women get out of a car and walk towards my house front door. At first I kept walking because I didn't want to interact with them. After 2 minutes of waiting, hoping they would leave, I noticed they didn't. Therefore I walked towards them to see what's going on.
One of them asked if my mom was there, and they knew her name. I told them she wasn't (she was at work). Then the woman asked when she would be available, and I told them I didn't know.
I started being suspicious and asked them, "Why did y'all come here?" and she replied, "Your mom probably didn't tell you," which insinuated that she and my mother were in contact. She proceeded to give me her business card and ask for my mom's phone number.
Me, like a dumbass, didn't ask why she knew her name and address but not her number. Instead I gave her my mom's number cause I thought they were already in contact. Then she asked if I knew her Gmail. That's when I realized it was all a bunch of bullshit, but it was already too late. I didn't give her the Gmail, told her I didn't know it (I lied). That was the end of the interaction.
Later, I searched up the coordinates written on the business card, which had the woman's name, phone number, etc. It turns out she's a residential and commercial real estate broker. Later that day when my mom came back, I told her what happened and she said she wasn't in contact with those people and didn't know them at all.
I'm afraid that something might happen to my mother because of my fault. I don't want her to be a victim of fraud, identity theft or whatever. Should I call the police and report what happened? What should me or my mom do? Should we be worried?
