Stolen iPad Recovered, Then Fake Finder Calls

A reddit report about a impersonation scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

Update: I ended up meeting up with him at our local PD and got the iPad back! Gave him a few bucks for going out of his way to get it back to me. Now I’m getting texts and calls from a random number saying they found the iPad at a gas station and want to set up to give it back to me. They said whoever stole it probably couldn’t access it so just dumped it at the gas station. Sounds fishy. I’m thinking I can ask them to meet me at the police station and if they refuse then I’ll just ignore them. Is this a bad idea?
