I can’t tell if this person is a real victim or they are trying to scam me. I don’t normally answer unrecognizable numbers, but I was expecting a call back from a contractor, so I picked it up thinking it might be their cell, not the work line I called. The person knew my first name but mispronounced it and said he was giving me a chance to make good before reporting me to the police. I immediately hung up. He called back and left a rambling voicemail saying I took his convention booth deposit but didn’t make his reservation. This made him lose thousands on travel expenses, plus missed days he could have worked. He said to call him back. I figure someone spoofed my number. I’m never calling him back and I blocked the number. But it seems like such a weird scam. Sounded like an older white man. Very angry.
