The caller said he was calling from the admissions office of a university about 100 miles from me. He said I had applied to attend their university and applied for student aid. I told him I had made no such application. I asked him if he had my social security number. He said they did, but he would not tell me the number, nor should I tell him mine. I don't understand why someone would apply to a university in my name. How could they benefit?
