I will REALLY, REALLY summarize it because my first post got removed due to length. This happened in California over about a month. I contacted a private seller on FB marketplace for a car way below its real price. We met up twice and he didn't block me even after I gave him a $700 deposit, but he kept making excuses and delaying the final purchase. Last Wednesday I told him I couldn't wait anymore and he agreed to refund the deposit this Saturday. Today (Friday) I tried to contact him and realized I'm blocked from WhatsApp and his phone number. I have a picture of the vehicle's registration from the dealer it was bought from, of the owner's driver's license (which expires April 10th), and I have the license plate and VIN from the other car he showed up in on the second meetup. I also ran a BeenVerified report on the car I wanted to purchase and nothing weird came up, that's why I decided to proceed. Advice? 🥀
