Scammed on a last-minute concert ticket

Hey everyone, just wanted to share this as a lesson (and maybe get some advice too IDK). I saw that one of my favorite local artists was performing near me. I really wanted to go, but I had a business trip scheduled on that date so I didn’t plan for it. Then last minute, my trip got postponed so I decided to get a ticket. At first I checked some reselling groups (basically black market at that point), but the prices were insane like 2x the original price, and a lot of it felt shady AF so I looked somewhere else. I tried my luck in my fandom community instead. The artist is popular but not exactly A list, and I generally trust people in the fandom so what else could go wrong? “Luckily”, I found someone who said they had an extra ticket. The price was still higher than the original but not as crazy as the other listings, so I went with it. Before paying, I did ask them for a lot of info… They sent me a ticket screenshot, seat details, I swear everything seemed legit. They even said they’d meet me at the venue since they were going too. On the day, a few hours before the show, they even texted saying they were on the way. Then right before it started, I realized I got blocked. I had screenshots of their profile and tried asking around in the community, but yeah… once the transaction is done, there’s basically nothing I can do. I don’t have their real ID, and cases like this aren’t really pursued legally in my country. Posting this so others don’t make the same mistake. Appreciate any tips that help avoid getting scammed when buying tickets, especially from resellers!!
