Scammed £1700 on Telegram for a £3000 Gift Card

A reddit report about a impersonation scam that cost someone $1700.0. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

Just been scammed £1700 on Telegram for a £3,000 gift card. Feel like shit rn. Worst thing is the payments were sent through crypto so my bank declined the dispute. I was in a 3-man group with a middle man who had a lot of vouches and over 10k members in his group. I’m really a fool for falling for it. Bank declined my dispute so I don’t even know what to do now, probably can’t do anything except feel bad about it… UPDATE: thank you guys for all the comments, I really appreciate it. As someone said in the replies, I’ll take this as an expensive life lesson. I’ve also got some DMs of “crypto recoveries” which are really funny tbh, these fools think I’ll fall for it twice. I’ve also asked ChatGPT and they told me to contact the crypto exchanges and gather a lot of evidence and stuff. I also contacted Action Fraud and gave my bank the crime reference number along with a big complaint, and if they don’t reimburse me (which they probably aren’t) I’ll make a case with the ombudsman. I know I probably won’t get reimbursed after this but it’s still worth a shot lol.
