Repeated $1-3 Facebook charges after I deleted my account

A reddit report about a impersonation scam that cost someone $1.0. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

My Cash App activity shows a long list of charges from Facebook - possibly not the real Facebook account - for amounts ranging from $1 to $3. I don't know what's going on. I lost service for a while earlier. I'm talking to my phone company now and they say my SIM wasn't transferred or anything, but I keep getting these random Facebook charges. The first $2 one went through, then I locked my card and blocked the merchant, but they continue to try to charge the card. Is it automated? Are they stupid? I don't understand... I deleted my Facebook a few weeks ago, so I don't know.
