Microsoft Ads charges hit after card replacement

A reddit report about a impersonation scam that cost someone $250.0. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

Called the bank to dispute the first three charges that I noticed two days ago. Bank canceled my old card and sent a new one. My new one had just arrived today and I haven't even opened the mail yet, and I got ANOTHER charge today, even after blocking the merchant AND getting a new card. I have called and added this new charge to the fraud claims, it is now total over $250. It seems like they're able to update the card to the new one on their end automatically, even though I don't know the new card numbers yet. And I did not link any bank info to my Microsoft account nor do I have any history charges or receipts. Any info would be appreciated! Edit: they are listed as Ads.MicrosoftNV (Microsoft*Ads and Microsoft*Advertising).
