I recently fell victim to a life insurance scam run by a supposedly lawyer from Toronto, Canada, working with Finch Capital Credit Union. They said that they had a deceased client who died intestate and left a $15 million policy fund. They said that they would prepare the necessary paperwork to make me the legal claimant. I foolishly agreed, but then I had to pay processing and past due premiums as well as a 9% estate tax to the Canada Revenue Agency. I have reported them to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and FBI IC3.
