Is This Columbus Apartment Listing a Scam?

A reddit report about a impersonation scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

I'm living in Raleigh and wanting to move to Columbus, OH. I found this post on Facebook Marketplace. The first red flag is the name of the person is Timothy but the profile pic is a woman. Threw me a little, but it's just a name so I figured I'll see where it goes. Their use of "Fine" feels a little odd, and they want me to do a credit check through TransUnion (the tinyurl link), but I'd prefer to do the tour first. Also, how pushy they were this morning with that "Hello?" text put me off. I don't know, I haven't had to find an apartment in a while so I'm just trying to play it safe. Is this a scam? Any recommendations for finding a place to live with roommates? I don't think I can afford a place on my own.
