Yes, I know I was stupid, I missed the warning signs because I was excited. I (living in FL, USA) sent someone $3,000 for camera gear. I met the person on Facebook on one of those buy/sell groups. I sent the person the funds over PayPal, the friends and family option. I didn't know what that was at the time, but now I realize it's so I can't contest the funds. I just downloaded PayPal for the first time and connected my account to my Wells Fargo checking account. The person, whose account had been active since 2007, has blocked me. So now I am taking the steps necessary to get my money back. I will call PayPal tomorrow to contest the charge and also plan on making a police report since this is a lot of money. I will also be speaking to Wells Fargo after speaking to the first two entities. What else can I do in my plan of action to make sure I get the funds back? How screwed am I? Thanks in advance for any advice. Yes, again, I know I was stupid.
