I had an issue with a parcel courier and commented on their Instagram account. I promptly received a DM from what I believed was them. They asked for my mobile number and parcel tracking number. As I was in a rush and stressed, I didn't think and gave it to them. They have now deleted their Instagram account and the messages they sent me, so I have no evidence, but it was obviously a scam. I feel very stupid, as I always thought I was sensible with these things. What realistically can they do with my mobile number? Is there anything I can do to protect myself?
