Fake delivery verification call led to Rs18,000 UPI loss

A reddit report about a impersonation scam that cost someone Amount not specified. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

I, 25F, got scammed today and lost around Rs20,000, which was mostly my fault. I had bought two kurtis from an Instagram page that told me a delivery executive from Amazon would call me for a verification process. That was two days ago. Today I received a call from that person, who said that because I had bought the garments on sale I needed to pay the original amount once, which would be refunded minus the tax. I did that, but then he kept scamming me, saying I needed to pay more for the verification process. I have never been so careless with transactions and scams, but today I don't know what happened. I blindly paid him the money through UPI transactions and lost Rs18,000. I am going through a lot of things right now and doing this voluntarily is making me feel devastated. TL;DR: Instagram page scammed me and I lost Rs18000. Delivery executive was fraud and I lost my mind at the moment.
