In September 2025 we booked tickets on United to Paris. The tickets issued went out on United and back on Air Canada. We flew to Paris but when checking in for the flight were unable to do it on the United app. My son looked up online the number for United and Air Canada. After an hour or so of trying to get somebody, we found a person who said we couldn't check in because our flight had not been ticketed. They said no problem they would rebook and would have to charge us for the ticket but would turn around and credit it. They also said they would give us a $650.00 credit each for future travel and it would take six weeks to get it. We got "re-booked" on the same flight and got home. The next month we received the same charge times two! We tried to contact United and Air Canada to no avail. We finally contacted the credit card company, which is Chase, and disputed the charges. We received letters saying that the charges were reversed maybe a month later. I rarely use that United card, but when I went to pay bills today we saw that the charge was back. I contacted United about the dispute and they said that the merchant said that it was a valid charge. Unbelievably they went ahead and re-charged us. When I contacted Chase about it, they said that since the dispute was closed I had to fax a request to dispute the charge again. What I cannot understand is how Chase does not see what a scam this is. I've seen many scams online about this same company. The phone number doesn't exist and the website doesn't exist. What more do they need to determine that it's fraud? They apparently don't deal with the company but only with the bank for the company.
