Do I feel stupid? Yes. So what happened is I fell for a basic sugar baby scam where I was sent a check for $400. I was then asked to send $200 back. While the check did show up in my bank account, I'm worried that it will bounce later on. This immediately felt off to me, and after doing more research I found out that this is a classic scam. I decided to block, but now three different numbers have been repeatedly calling me and now threatening me. While the way they're doing this is kinda funny at first, they have now sent a picture of an old house I lived in and (hopefully not real) videos of people being harmed. Literally as I was typing this a new number texted me saying they're an assassin — like I know no one would hire an assassin over 200 fucking dollars, and I don't think I would be in legal trouble. If they actually have contacted the police, I'm not sure what to do. Any advice would be great, and again... I know I'm a dumbass.
EDIT: Thank you for all the advice. I contacted my bank and sorted it out on that end. Definitely just got spooked by the graphic videos and threats that were sent. I also know people don't give money for free; this was not a random payment and a type of service was given beforehand (thankfully not pictures). Definitely will be looking into a different kind of side hustle to help supplement my income.
