Fake Tracking on eBay, Refund After Appeal

A reddit report about a fake_shopping scam that cost someone $200.0. Learn how to avoid falling victim.

I bought a new radar detector on eBay for $200 in February. The seller never provided tracking and actually shut down their account soon after. I contacted eBay, but they told me to wait until a certain date. I waited and then reached out again. Now somehow the seller provided a tracking number that is fake but shows delivered. I contacted eBay to step in and they said to wait a few more days. I waited and finally I could open up a case, but it immediately got closed saying the item was delivered. Now the return window has closed and I can't open up another case. Basically, am I screwed? The USPS tracking is fake and doesn't even show the item weight or the exact address it was delivered to. Please help. I should've known this could be a possibility since the seller was brand new with no ratings. EDIT: Thanks everyone. I just got the refund from eBay after appealing.
